Nigerian Stars Join Hollywood Blockbuster Children of Blood and Bone

The upcoming fantasy epic Children of Blood and Bone is set to showcase Nigerian talent on the global stage, with veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) and Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr joining an all-star international cast.

Based on the bestselling novel by Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi, the film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and tells the story of Zélie, a young woman fighting to restore magic to the fictional African kingdom of Orïsha after it is brutally suppressed by a powerful monarchy.

The movie features an impressive mix of established Hollywood actors and African stars.

Joining RMD and Ayra Starr are Shamz Garuba, Pamilerin Ayodeji, Kola Bodunde, Temi Fagbenle, and Zackary Momoh, further strengthening Nigeria's representation in the production.

Paramount Pictures released the first official trailer this week, giving audiences their first look at the magical world of Orïsha.

The trailer has drawn widespread praise for its breathtaking visuals, action sequences and African-inspired storytelling, with many describing it as one of the most anticipated fantasy films of 2027.

The film is scheduled to premiere in cinemas and IMAX on 15 January 2027.
